The Challenge

Developing Touchmark at the Ranch presented a unique set of challenges. We needed to create a flat building site on top of mountainous terrain. Serving the senior community, Touchmark at the Ranch required strict adherence to the American with Disabilities guidelines.

Our Approach

Accessibility through Design: We developed a functional site that provided total mobility for all senior residents.
Infrastructure Design: Our team designed water, sewer, drainage, and roadway systems that meet City of Prescott requirements.
Stormwater Management: We developed a stormwater system that captures and filters 100% of the stormwater runoff, with metered release to the existing system.
Recreational Amenities: The plan included pickleball, outdoor entertainment, and other lifestyle amenities to enhance residents' quality of life.

Engineering Community Connections: Upgrading Penn Avenue and Eastwood Drive

As part of historic Prescott, the Penn Avenue/Eastwood Drive Improvements project is an example of Granite Basin Engineering's expertise in urban infrastructure rehabilitation. This $11 million capital improvement project showcases our ability to solve complex drainage issues while enhancing transportation infrastructure. The project transformed an area with aging infrastructure into a thriving community destination utilizing the Acker Park recreation area.

The Challenge

Prescott's historic Penn Avenue and Eastwood Drive had deteriorated roadways and significant drainage problems, leading to flooding and safety concerns for both pedestrians and motorists. Our task was to overhaul the area's infrastructure while preserving its character and minimizing disruption to residents.

Drainage Overhaul: We designed a 16 acre-foot multi-use regional detention basin to manage stormwater effectively.
